Forget polite dining and standard rice-and-curry rules 🦀

At Church Street Social, we give the island’s signature meal the bold, modern take it deserves, fronted by a massive, sweet mud crab, shell-on and submerged in a thick, dark coconut gravy steeped in fresh drumstick leaves (murunga). This rich, aromatic curry is the undeniable star of the table, flanked by a colour-packed supporting cast: tempered beetroot, flash-cooked green mallum, golden dhal, fried chillies, and crisp papadums.

Get in there with your hands, break through the shells, and mix that heavy gravy directly into steaming heaps of rice. If your fingers aren't stained orange by the time you're done, you didn't do it right.
