Join us on Saturday the 8th of August at 1:00 PM for our third Long Table Saturdays event, curated by Samia Naccash and featuring Aude & Mohamad!
About the workshop:
This workshop invites you to explore the world of watercolours and coloured pencils, whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to build on an existing practice. Illustrators Aude and Mohamad will guide you through the basics of colour theory and the core techniques that make watercolour such a fun medium—from washes and blending to building depth through layering—with coloured pencils introduced to add detail and texture.
Through a series of simple guided exercises, you’ll get a feel for how the paint moves while simultaneously overcoming the blank page block, opening the door to a full day of drawing, and learning how to avoid common drawing habits and tics. The aim is to help you feel comfortable with the materials, have fun with them, and start discovering your own voice within them.
Workshop Time: 2pm-4:30pm
Workshop Fee: 10$ (includes all materials and tools)
About the artists:
*Aude Abou Nasr* is a Beirut-based French-Lebanese illustrator and animator working on counter-narratives of place, memory, and violence through mapping, comics and visual archives.
*Mohamad Kraytem* is a cartoonist, painter, and teacher living in Beirut. Lost in many mediums, he doesn’t really know where things are going, but while figuring things out, he’s publishing comics in Lebanon, France and Denmark.
Everyone’s welcome–not just workshop participants!
