Every cocktail has a story—and the Margarita’s begins with a little mystery.
The Margarita is an iconic tequila-based cocktail, traditionally combining tequila, orange liqueur and fresh lime juice, often served in a glass with its unmistakable salted rim.
According to one popular story, it was first created in 1942 by bartender Francisco “Pancho” Morales at Tommy’s Place in Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. What began as a spontaneous mixture would eventually become one of the world’s most celebrated cocktails.
