Tomorrow, on October 08th, Luang Prabang celebrates Boun Ok Phansa, marking the end of the three-month Buddhist Lent. It’s a time when monks conclude their meditation retreat and communities come together to make merit and express gratitude.

During the evening, all the main street and many temples of the city will glow with candlelight and floating lanterns as families release small decorated boats (Heua Fai) on the Mekong river to honor the water spirits and wash away misfortune.

A boat light parade will stand on the main street from 07pm. You have opportunity to book a table with our partner Sahai Lao Coffee Roastery and make sure you won't miss any minute of this beautiful parade!

The atmosphere is both spiritual and festive — temples illuminated, chants echoing, and the Mekong shimmering under thousands of lights. It’s one of the most beautiful and meaningful times to experience Luang Prabang’s living Buddhist traditions. 🌾✨

Today marks the 2nd day of the Red Cross rescue team training at our swimming pool. It's an impressive and fascinating exercise, and they are truly demonstrating skill and dedication. Big up and respect to all the volunteers for their hard work and commitment!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Red Cross and their emergency service for their rescue training. Whenever possible, we try to support the community that works hard to protect us, the citizens of Luang Prabang.
