Subject: Clarification and Actions Regarding Recent Incident
We are writing to address a recent social media post regarding an incident involving one of our customers at Stogies Cigar Lounge on Friday 5th July 2024.
First it is important that we stress that the management and staff of Stogies Cigar Lounge have the utmost respect and appreciation for all our female patrons, and we take the safety and wellbeing of our customers very seriously and strive to ensure a secure and comfortable environment for everyone.
Regarding the incident mentioned, we would like to provide some clarifications and outline the steps management has taken to address the matter:
1. Immediate Response: A verbal apology was issued immediately to the complaining customer by a member of our management team. The complaining customer was also assured that the matter would be thoroughly addressed. The complaining customer did not indicate that she wanted to escalate the matter to the police, if she did, management would have assisted accordingly. The complaining customer left moments after speaking to management.
2. Addressing the Accused customer: Management immediately spoke to the accused customer, suggested they leave the establishment, and informed them that the incident would be investigated further. It is important to note that the alleged incident occurred outside of Stogies Lounge, in the common bathroom area, and was not observed by any member of our management team.
3. Departure of Accused customer: The accused customer left the premises shortly after being spoken to by a member of management.
4. Internal Discussion: The management team convened the night of the alleged incident and agreed to speak to the accused customer the next day (Saturday), gather additional information, and determine the appropriate further actions.
5. Follow-Up with Complaining customer: On Sunday morning at 8:30 am, management reached out to the complaining customer to provide a further apology and an update on the steps being taken to address the matter. Unfortunately, the complaining customer did not answer the call or respond to the follow-up message.
6. Formal Warning Issued: On Sunday, a formal warning notice was issued to the accused customer regarding the alleged conduct.
At Stogies Cigar Lounge, we are committed to ensuring that all customers feel respected and safe. We deeply regret any distress caused by this incident and are dedicated to taking appropriate measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
