It started as a joke. 10 years later, we have two restaurants and a team of 45 employees🌿

Ten years ago we were living in Paris with the kind of life you're supposed to want. Corporate jobs, a comfortable apartment, a plan that made sense on paper. And yet something never quite fit.

One evening, half as a joke, we said out loud what if we just left it all and opened a little restaurant somewhere in Cambodia. We laughed about it. And then we couldn't stop thinking about it.

So we left. We gave up the stable jobs and the comfortable life, and we moved to the other side of the world to build something of our own, without really knowing if it would work. Especially when your plan is to sell cocktails and spring rolls only 🙈.

Today that joke has become two restaurants and a team of 45 people who show up every day to bring it to life. It's been the hardest and the best thing we've ever done, and we wouldn't change a single moment of it 🌿

To everyone who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, or followed our story from the start, thank you. None of this would exist without you

When Spean Chivit reached out and asked if we’d sponsor Spring Roll Thursday, we didn’t have to think very long.

Spring rolls are literally what we do 😄

But honestly, what really moved us was what they’re doing: helping young people grow in confidence, create something from scratch and build meaningful connections around a table.

That’s exactly the kind of community we want to be part of 💛

Here’s the kind of Cambodia itinerary we wish more people knew about:

📍 Phnom Penh (2–4 nights minimum)
Don’t treat it as just a stopover. Phnom Penh is cafés, hidden neighborhoods, rooftop sunsets, amazing food and surprisingly good nightlife. Stay around BKK1 or Tonlé Bassac if you want to be able to walk to restaurants and cafés.

👉 Best way to understand the city? Book a food tour with . One of the best things you can do when arriving in Cambodia.

Also: Cambodia is HOT 😅 One of our favorite travel hacks is slowing down somewhere green during the hottest hours. If you find yourself near WILD Phnom Penh, think tropical garden, quiet corners, refreshing drinks and a peaceful little escape from the city.

📍 Siem Reap (4+ nights if possible)
Yes, Angkor Wat is incredible. But don’t rush it.

👉 Go EARLY for temples (sunrise is worth it once, but honestly sunset at the moat is underrated). Rest during the hottest hours. Rent a scooter if you’re comfortable driving.

Pro tip: the 7-day Angkor Pass is often worth it if you want to explore without burning out.

Stay somewhere peaceful if you can. Rambutan Hotel is still one of our favorite spots in town.

And if you end up loving WILD Phnom Penh, there’s also one in Siem Reap 🌿 Completely different atmosphere, but just as charming, tropical garden, wooden house vibes and one of our favorite ways to end a temple day.

📍 Koh Rong Samloem (3–5 nights)
If you think 2 nights is enough, it probably isn’t 😌

Slow mornings, swimming, sunsets and forgetting what day it is. Stay somewhere you genuinely won’t want to leave. is a little gem if you want beautiful views and peaceful vibes.

A few random Cambodia tips:
• Always carry some cash (still useful almost everywhere)
• Use Grab for tuk-tuks in cities
• Don’t overplan your days, Cambodia is best enjoyed slowly
• Avoid doing temples at midday unless you enjoy melting 🥵
• The rainy season is underrated (everything turns incredibly green)
