Welcome to Sokkhak River Restaurant

We specialise in a unique, delectable mixture of classic French recipes and modern Khmer dishes. Located next door to our sister restaurant Chanrey Tree – where you’ll find some of Cambodia’s best traditional countryside cuisine – our spacious, airy restaurant is set in a beautifully landscaped garden that is laced with ponds and tropical flowers. The restauran

t overlooks the Siem Reap River and is just a short stroll to the hubbub of the city’s central Pub Street area. Our chefs and experienced front-of-house team provide an elegant, fine dining experience that begins as soon as you step into our restaurant. The word “sokkhak” is Khmer for “tranquillity” and this theme is reflected in the Zen design of our cool, air conditioned restaurant, with its water features, courtyards, atriums, lotus flowers and abundance of natural light. Sokkhak River is adorned with both modern and traditional local artwork. Our chefs create artfully presented, refined French dishes such as a flavoursome beef carpaccio, fresh, melt-in-the-mouth salmon tartar, creamy goats cheese salads as well as fish, lamb and steak main courses and pastas. However we also have a wide range of tasty, authentic Cambodian dishes to choose from, from the classic fish amok to delicate rice paper rolls, grilled stuffed frogs and prahok ktish – a heady, flavour-packed Cambodian delicacy of fermented fish, pork and thinly sliced river fish braised with coconut cream, baby eggplants and vegetables crudités. We also have an excellent and diverse list of French and international wines and cocktails. After a long day of exploring the incredible Angkorian temple ruins or taking in Siem Reap’s intoxicating local life, Sokkhak provides the perfect setting to indulge in a fine dining environment.
