Welcome to the return of one of Nairobi's best blues bands after a long break.. My amazing memories of them at Dagoz artist venue before covid times were priceless..*Downhome Blues Gang Bio:*

The Downhome Blues Gang are a Nairobi-based live blues band & are one of only 2 live blues bands in the country, making them one of the cornerstone acts of the Kenya Blues scene.
Formed in 2017, they honed their skills playing at The Blues Restaurant, a hidden gem previously located at Barclays (now ABSA) Plaza in the uptown part of Nairobi's C*D.
Their style can be defined as fresh, nostalgic and electrifying -- fusing blues, rock, funk, afrobeat, and reggae, into a tasteful listening experience.
Formerly led by Yubu up until his emmigration to the US in 2019, the band is now being steered by original member Kamau Kamikazé on vocals and keys, alongside new members Jaydee Mwenesi on bass and Jonathan Kiragu on drums.
From the catchy-nostalgic melodies of Bill Withers to the thought provoking lyrics of Stevie Wonder, TDBG aims to create an unforgettable live music experience for music lovers. Gracing stages such as Thursday Night Live & Naivasha Farmer's Market ,their hope is to take crowds to a spiritual musical paradise while introducing audiences to the genre that birthed a lot of genres & grooves that we know & love today. A little hip-shaking, finger snapping, head nodding never hurt anybody!
