Bidii Primary School forcing Parents to pay Sh1000 illegal teacher motivation fee per parent.
Hello Duke Joseph
Bidii Primary School is now forcing parents for fork out 1000/- per parent per pupil, a policy that is not popular and had drawn ire from parents, many of whom have refused to comply but the school insists.
The school plans to penalise parents by not clearing learners after the end of term 1. Mostly, parents were giving out parent motivation at the end on the year, and at an amount decided by themselves.
At the school meeting in February, parents expressed disdain for such a move with some reading mischief in the agenda.
'You want to buy cars for teachers, where is the money we usually give when we bring learners to this school?,' a parent had asked headmistress
'Is a vehicle truly important devoid of performance by the said teachers', another asked.
'We have not rejected the motivation fee, but we pay about the same amount each month. What's special about this year?,' a parent stated.
The school oftenfrequented by the likes of failed politician Esther Passaris is now in the cross hairs of parents. Recently, the Nairobi Women Representative reportedly raised Sh20 million.
With a population of slightly over 1000 pupils, the effort to get the Sh1000 from parents which translates to about a million shillings raises eye brows.
Parents have not refused to give the money but want a revert to the old system, 'end year, any amount'
For over two months, the school's management has been forcing over burdened parents to eke out the money,
