NASA astronaut Ron Garan, after spending 178 days in space, said that humanity is living in a great illusion. In his book Orbital Perspective, Ron Garan writes:
“If we want to solve global problems, we must elevate our thinking beyond the ‘Earth-level’ perspective and look at them from a ‘cosmic’ perspective.”

Main ideas of the book:

* Looking at Earth from space, we see that there are no borders. Garan says that we must rise above divisions of countries, races, or religions and see all humanity as one whole.

* He took nighttime photographs of the borders of India, China, Pakistan, and many other countries from space, where orange lights appeared as clear lines. He said it was a sad sight, because naturally there are no divisions on Earth, but ignorant people around the world have created artificial borders.

* He shared videos and photographs of breathtaking auroras and lightning storms, which can be seen on his website, Ron Garan Gallery.

* He said that we are all connected to one another and to this planet. If pollution or disease spreads in one corner of the world, it affects everyone. We must understand that we cannot survive alone.

* Garan gives the example of the International Space Station, where different countries — sometimes even hostile toward one another — still work together for a common goal in space. He says that if we can do this in space, why not on Earth?

* We often think only about today’s benefits. This book inspires us to care for Earth for future generations and to make long-term, far-sighted decisions.

In short, this book teaches us that we are not merely “crew members” of this Earth, but passengers, and it is our shared responsibility to save it.

- His video “Blue Marble” sparked worldwide discussion. Ron Garan’s video and photographs shocked the world because Earth’s atmosphere appeared as an extremely thin blue line. In this video, he shared several very important insights:

* Ron said that when we are on Earth, the sky seems vast

A police officer stopped a Pastor for speeding. The Pastor seeing trouble, yelled back: “I am a Pastor to a Church not a thief” The officer replied: "If you are indeed a Pastor, then you must have a Bible in your car. Bring it.” The Pastor speedily brought out his Bible to prove his honesty and to be freed.

Please read Matthew 5:25-26 to me Said the police man. Pastor opened the recommended text and it reads: “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to a judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. I tell you the truth; you will not get out until you have paid the last penny”.

The perplexed man of God upon interpretation “Quietly” made an “offering” of a "Five Hundred Shillings" to his newly found “Preacher”. The Officer collected his bribe and said to the pastor, “End of the matter.

Go quickly in peace and never argue that policemen collect bribe. We only settle matters quickly and peacefully with all offenders instead of taking them to court to be thrown into prison. It's part of our job.

KENYAN LUO CLANS PART 12

JO KARUNGU: PEOPLE OF KARUNGU

The name Karungu originated from Mirungu Nyoelre ,the elder wife of Blu who was Onyango'a son. Bui had
seven wives. His mother was known as Akech Nyakangagi and was 'nyar mwa'. Biu's other wives were;
* Pony
* Suda
* Nyomiro
* Achuku
* Akumu
* Achieng and
* Nyasaa.
Mirungu, the elder wife, Influenced Biu's two
other wives (Achuku,Achieng) and broke away (together
with Kadem) from Kanyamwa and went down to Sori.
Some of the reasons that caused the great migration
from Kanyamwa were as follows;

a) When the Kadem, Kabuoch and Karungu confiscated
Mwa's cattle, an act which was quite recurrent,
Ogalo always took the cattle and returned them
to 'Mwa' while keeping some for himself. People
began uttering words like 'Ngani thirowa'.

b) Ogalo and Kanyamwa regarded Jokonyango as their serfs and made them suffer all the sufferings that the serfs, In history have suffered.

c) Whenever Karungu, Kadem and Kabuoch went
hunting, on their return they always had to
part with their meat which went to Ogalo.
All these were to cause their great dispersal.

The lands around the present day Sori l.e. earlier occupied by people referred to as 'Mwa', were discovered by
two people, from Konyango, l.e. Oyier Akama Jakadem and
Owaja Jakamuga. These two were doing business with the aforesaid 'Mwa'. They sent them hides and skins in return
of beeds and hoes. Later they brought the good news that
the land down there was very fertile. The main leaders of Kadem and Karungu while they were at Ramba and down the lake were Owuonda and Wambogo
respectively.

The actual migration from Ramba to Sori began
exactly as had been prophesied by the leaders such as Owuonda and Wambogo. Arrangements had already been made,
by people like Oyier Akama, and Migogwa (the llwa' leader)
that the Karungu and Kadem move down.
Meanwhile a great hunt was organised. All the
occupants of Ramba were to go hunting. Tha Kanyamwa,
