To mark this milestone, some truly legendary bottle have joined our collection.
A guest today even called me the "Director of the Vintage Whisky Museum"—I guess the title is official now! (haha)

The unicorn rum is finally here.
A legendary ghost rum has arrived‼︎

This is a mysterious and legendary bottle. Produced at Lapalun in Petit-Bourg, Martinique—a ghost distillery that operated for only three years before closing in 1955. Sourced through Chantal Comte, it was distributed to Japanese buyers after 1989.
(While rumors online claim it was aged for 20 years and bottled in 1972, this information remains highly questionable...)

1955年にわずか3年で閉鎖された「ゴースト蒸留所」、マルティニークのラパラン（プティ・ブール地区）。
シャンタル・コントの仲介を経て、日本のバイヤー向けに1989年以降に流通した、いまだ謎の多い幻のボトルです。
（ネット上では「20年熟成、1972年ボトリング」としてコピペが出回っていますが、ボトルの仕様から見てその情報は極めて疑わしいものです…）

色々書きましたが、伝説のボトルに相応しい味わいに驚きです…

マッカランの伝統である「直火蒸留」と、現在は希少な「ゴールデンプロミス種」の麦芽。
