It is with great sadness that I received the news that Dexter Wansel, the artist, singer, producer, arranger, musician, composer, conductor, synthesist and A&R director, Philly Soul & Jazz pioneer passed away on May 31, 2026.
He has guided my music and career by creating legendary body of recordings and shows that inspired and continues elevate my thoughts and creativity.
He will be missed as a friend and communicator. But his voyage here has left us all better, wiser and a whole lot funkier!
I hear talk of humans going to Mars! Well… Dexter already took us there in 1976!

ピーボ・ブライソンさんとは
光栄にも、何度もデュエットさせていただき
その素晴らしい歌声を間近で
聴かせていただいていました。

「Ayaka! 一緒にレコーディングしよう！」
ありがたいことに、ピーちゃんから
いつも誘っていただいていたのに
なかなか実現できずにいました。

歌声を保つ秘訣もたくさん教えてくれました。
今でも、その教えを大事にしています。

「Sleep, sleep, sleep」

本当に眠ってしまったのですか。
まだ実感が湧きません。

歌の守護神、ピーちゃん。
これからもずっと見守っていてください。

We are sad to report that Peabo Bryson, one of the great balladeers of Soul music, has passed away at the age of 75.
His family confirmed his passing to TMZ, just days after his rep announced he was receiving medical care in Atlanta following a stroke.

Bryson was best known for hits such as "Feel The Fire" and "Can You Stop The Rain," which became standards during the "quiet storm" era. His smooth voice also made him a reliable duet partner, creating hits with Roberta Flack, Celine Dion, and Regina Belle, among others.
