FVP Dr. Machar Trial Resumes This Morning as Court Enforces Necktie Ban
Juba, South Sudan – 29 July 2026
The Special Court trial of suspended First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and other SPLM/A-IO leaders resumes today, with Lt. Gen. Gabriel Duop Lam continuing his testimony.
The court has ordered all accused persons not to wear neckties during proceedings, clarifying that the measure is for security reasons and is not based on any legal prohibition against ties.
