【LONGGOOD SESTINA / six botanicals】(gin)

(Manufacturer's Description)

“SESTINA” refers to a classical poetic form that originated in medieval Europe.
The final words of six lines are repeated in a sequence where their order changes, culminating in the last three lines. It is a form of literature that harmonizes words themselves, much like music.

Inspired by this principle, we designed our sixth creation. Juniper berry, Gifu Amanatsu, Gifu chamomile, Gifu rose geranium, Gifu Japanese black tea, and orris root. These six distinct personalities sequentially shift their expressions, resonating with one another as they blend into a single aromatic accord.

Bring the glass close to your nose, and you’ll first encounter the bright citrus of Amakawa peel. This gradually gives way to a transparent fruitiness reminiscent of white peach and Muscat grapes. In the middle notes, a nostalgic, soda-like scent emerges, leading to a mellow, honey-like finish.

Just as a poem deepens its lyricism by layering words, this gin also creates harmony through the layering of botanicals.

This release is also a self-homage to “First Release,” the starting point of the series. It has been just over a year since the series began. We have poured all of our current expertise into every single drop.

SESTINA（セスティーナ）とは、中世ヨーロッパに生まれた古典詩形のこと。
6つの行末の語が、6つのつらなりの中で順を変えながら繰り返され、最後の3行ですべてが収束する。まるで音楽のように、言葉そのものを響き合わせる文学のこと。

6作目となる今作は、その原理をヒントに設計しました。ジュニパーベリー、岐阜甘夏、岐阜カモミール、岐阜ローズゼラニウム、岐阜和紅茶、オリスルート。6つの個性が順に表情を変え、互いに呼応しながら、ひとつの香りのアコードへと結ばれます。

グラスに近づくと、まず甘夏果皮の明るい柑橘。やがて白桃やマスカットを思わせる、透明感のある果実味へ。中盤にはラムネのような懐かしいノートが立ち上がり、蜂蜜を思わせるまろやかな後味へと続きます。

詩が言葉を重ねて抒情を深めるように、このジンもまた、ボタニカルが重なり合い、ひとつの調和を生み出しています。

今作は、シリーズの始点である「First Release」へのセルフオマージュでもあります。シリーズ開始から1年余り。今の私たちの技術のすべてを、一滴一滴に注ぎました。

【PLOW 023 SAKURA gin】(gin)

This gin combines Oshima cherry leaves, which have a scent reminiscent of sakura mochi, with botanicals (camellia and magnolia buds) harvested from winter through spring that evoke the four seasons of Japan. It’s a gin that blends the cold winter with the cherry blossoms, the symbol of spring.
You’ll experience a subtle, sweet aroma and the sensation of new buds emerging after surviving the winter.

桜餅のような香りを持つ大島桜の葉と、冬から春にかけて取れる日本の四季を感じさせるボタニカル（山茶花、木蓮の蕾）を使用。寒い冬と春の代名詞サクラを掛け合わせたジン。
ほのかに香る甘い香りと冬を乗り越えた芽吹きを感じられます。

【MAIRINGEN】(GIN)
from Kyoto

A craft gin produced at the Kyotango MAIRINGEN Distillery, located in the forest of medicinal herbs and trees at the northernmost tip of Kyoto. It is made using two types of water—ultra-soft water from the highlands and ultra-hard water from the foothills—and distilled with wild Kuromoji, Kuma bamboo grass, and pesticide-free lemons. It is a refreshing gin with a surprisingly clean and delicate aroma.

京都最北端、薬草薬樹の森にある京丹後舞輪源蒸留所で作られるクラフトジン。山の高地からの超軟水と麓からの超硬水の二種の仕込み水を使用し、自生するクロモジ、クマザサ、無農薬レモンを蒸留している。驚くほど綺麗で繊細な香りを有する、爽やかなジンである。

This time, I created a cocktail using raki, Turkey's representative anise-flavored spirit.
While researching the aroma of anise, I discovered research data indicating that it contains estragole, an important aromatic molecule that makes up broccoli. I also found this in my own GC-MS data, so I used these two ingredients as a starting point and combined them with blueberries, melon, and fennel, which share common aromatic components with anise.
I didn't find the strong green smell of broccoli strange, but instead felt that it added a little depth to the aroma.

今回はトルコを代表するアニス酒である『ラク』を使用したカクテルを考案しました。
アニスの香りについて調べていたところ、エストラゴールというブロッコリーを構成するのに重要な香り分子を擁するという研究データを発見し、自身の持つGC-MSデータにも見受けられたことから、この二つの素材を起点に、アニスと共通香気成分を持つブルーベリーやメロン、フェンネルを合わせました。
ブロッコリーの強烈なグリーン臭は不思議と感じず、代わりに少し香りの厚みが増した気がします。

『カクテル』X『AIミュージック』という新しいBARの形態。
ミクソロジストである桐山透によるプロジェクト"BARBANK"。

GC-MS機器を使用し素材の香りデータを採取、
そのデータを基にカクテルレシピを構築、
そのカクテルを題材にAIにより楽曲を制作し、
その楽曲のミュージックビデオを自身の手で撮影・編集した。

大阪のBAR『KIRIP TRUMAN』が世に送り出す、ハイブリッド・カクテルメイクの第一弾作品。

Based on a signature cocktail "ANIS" from KIRIP TRUMAN, created by Toru Kiriyama.

Toru Kiriyama analyzed aroma data using GC-MS,
created a cocktail based on that data,
composed a song for that cocktail using AI,
and produced an MV for that song,
all by himself.
