Kingston Bar opened for business in 2003 and has since been operated by a close associate of Mr. Samuel Freeman, president of Freeman Labor Force Japan. Under the new management agreement,
Kingston Bar is being re-made to better entertain its old and loyal customers - as well as attract new members t
o this international community!
“I want to take this chance to say thanks to all Kingston Bar customers and reggae-music lovers in Japan who have helped keep Kingston Bar alive and in business. A little history of the relationship between the previous owner and Mr. Freeman.
“I got interested in this African,Ethnic,Traditional and Reggae-music world,” explained Freeman. “The owner of Kingston Bar is a longtime friend of mine; we hang out a lot and have observed the entertainment world of Japan. He is very experienced in business and the ways of Japan, and he is my sempai. We always talk about music and we discovered that African,Ethnic,Traditional and Reggae music suits Japanese people very well,” Freeman continued. “From there, he opened Kingston Bar eight years ago, and I went on to start Freeman Labor Force Japan. We have always continued to advise and support each other. Now, after much talking and planning, we have decided that Freeman Labor Force Japan will take over the management of Kingston Bar. “This means a new system and new ways of entertainment with African,Ethnic,Traditional and Reggae music in Japan,” Freeman said. “Freeman Labor Force Japan will do its best to make King.stone Cafe ‘n’Bar a place for people to feel naturally at ease, make friends and enjoy music, and food.”
㈱FREEMAN LABOR FORCE JAPAN 代表フリーマン・サミュエルの念願であったBAR の運営開始より半年、念願であった理由とその目的を簡単ですが紹介いたします。
代表の出身国は、世界最貧国で知られている西アフリカ、シエラレオネ、南大西洋に面した美しい国ですが、映画“ブラッドダイヤモンド”の舞台にもなった悲惨な歴史をもつ国でもあります。良質なダイヤモンド等の地下資源を保有する本来リッチな国であるはずなのですが、政治の腐敗から、ダイヤモンドの利権をめぐり争いの絶えない国なのです。12年間続いた内戦も2002年にアメリカと国連の介入により終結はしましたが、国自体は沢山の問題をかかえたままです。
日本と本国との違いを一番感じるのは沢山あるけれども教育・・・とフリーマンは言います。義務教育のない本国に誰でも通える学校を作り、一時的な支援でなく長期にわたる支援を展開していきたいという強い信念を持って日本での会社設立、BARの運営に至りました。それぞれの事業に明確な目的を持ち取り組んでおりますが、機会があればフリーマン本人にきいてみてください。とめどなく語ってくれることでしょう。
BARの事業売上は、近い将来そのまま本国の無料学校の運営費にあてることを目的としており、すべてはこれからです。
