It was sometime around 1994. To get this shot, I came up with a completely homemade system: I attached a waterproof disposable camera to the end of the boom and, using a thin piece of string, created a mechanism that allowed me to trigger the shutter.

Back then, images like this could only be seen in the major sailing magazines. Managing to capture one myself with such a simple idea was a great satisfaction. Looking at it today, though, the satisfaction is even greater. 😊
