Finalmente possiamo svelarvi la storia della nostra nuova Chaise Lounge Arele.

"Mi hanno piantato in Francia quando Napoleone aveva solo 16 anni.

Per 167 primavere ho respirato i profumi della foresta di Allier.
Nel 1952, ho iniziato la mia seconda vita stagionando all'aria aperta per ben 7 anni prima di arrivare in Italia e diventare botte per mano dei mastri bottai di Garbellotto.
La famigia Tommasi mi ha affidato l'invecchiamento dell'Amarone nelle sue cantine per 67 vendemmie.

Per la MDW 25, inizio la mia terza vita, sono ARELE la nuova creazione di Winetage, per il mio debutto vestita da Luca Faloni."

Do you know why we chose oak staves from wine barrels as the material for our furnishings?

Imagine two trees growing side by side in the same forest. One will become a piece of furniture, the other a barrel.

From that moment, their paths diverge: one is quickly dried in industrial kilns to standardise the wood, while the other undergoes outdoor seasoning—a journey that lasts years, exposed to all the elements: sun, rain, frost, and wind, developing unparalleled durability. This is where the story of our material begins.

Every creation we make begins with nature. We start by reclaiming oak wood from old wine barrels, preserving its history and unique qualities.

After selecting the wood, we study its shape, allowing every curve and detail to guide us in enhancing its beauty. Our craftsmen then transform the oak, skillfully working with the wood to highlight its grain, knots, and hues. This authentic process requires time, dedication, and expertise.

Thus, our products are born.

For us, tradition means respect for the raw material, the oak wood, which we treat with care and attention. A noble material that, after having held the finest wines, is transformed into unique design pieces, handcrafted by our artisans.

The name Winetage is born from the union of two words that encapsulate the essence of our vision: "Wine", symbolising the oak barrels we reclaim, and "Heritage", the precious legacy that wine imparts to those barrels.

Each stave carries with it a story, a journey, a connection to tradition that we have the privilege of transforming into something new.

The opening of a wine barrel is a magical moment that marks the beginning of our creations. The enveloping aroma of wine fills the artisan's workshop as they deftly remove the final hoop holding the barrel together.

It is here that the true discovery begins: the oak, enriched over the years by fine wines, reveals its extraordinary colour. Light dances upon the wood's "fireflies," the grains that make each stave unique. And amidst this spectacle, the sugars left by the wine shimmer, a testament to an heritage woven into the wood over time.

Each piece tells a story of passion and tradition, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary.
