This is a family home jointly owned by Mark & Elizabeth Smith-Hughes and Philip & Ann-Marie Greyson which sleeps up to 8 people. It is in the village of Gravagna Montale which belongs to the municipality of Pontremoli, in the province of Massa-Carrara and the region of Toscana. Gravanga Montale is a quiet rural village (apart from the church bells), 723 meters above sea level. There are about 60 inhabitants in summer and 20 in winter. The buildings are clustered together with interesting pathways, corners and spaces between them. It is an ideal location for walking/hiking. Both Philip and Mark use the house as a base for some quite challenging cycling (the house is surrounded by hills). There is a small shop in the village which sells basic supplies and a bar/restaurant in the neighbouring village of Gravagna San Rocco which is a 5 minute walk away.
