PORNSTAR MARTINI
The p**n star martini is a cold, passion fruit-flavoured cocktail made with vanilla-flavoured vodka, Passoã, passion fruit juice, and lime juice. It is traditionally accompanied by a chilled shot glass of prosecco
It is not a true martini, but is one of many drinks that incorporate the term into their names.
The p**n star martini is regularly reported to be the most popular cocktail in the United Kingdom.
The p**n star martini was invented by Douglas Ankrah, owner of the LAB London bar in London, United Kingdom, in 1999. Although the name has proved controversial, Ankrah has denied that he named it a "p**n star" martini to be deliberately provocative. In interviews, Ankrah claimed he used the "p**n star" name to evoke "a stylish and confident drink...[that's]….pure indulgence, sexy, fun and evocative". Ankrah has also denied being a fan of p**nography, or idolising any p**n stars in particular.
In 2019, British retailer Marks & Spencer renamed their tinned P**n Star Martini drinks to Passion Star Martini, following complaints that the name normalised p**nography.
