Coffee & Cream: I have tried to make a coffee soap with much more coffee grounds then any other soaps I have made, and of course freshly poured espresso, that my husband loves to brew!
Coffee grounds in soap works well on dirty hands, for example for those dirty work hands in the workshop. The coffee scrub exfoliates and removes dead skin cells.
This is with an espresso fragrance.
Just a little heads up here:)
Whenever you pour anything in a cold processed soap (like coffee!), and you think “Oh, then the soap will smell like this”, you will be disappointed.. the combination of lye and oils will remove any smell. Sometimes you get a light scent, for example a sweet honey smell from honey soaps, but you can’t smell any coconut from the coconut oil or chocolate from the cocoa powder and so on.
So when you get that clean laundry or melon scent, coffee or coconut scent from soap, it’s often fragranced/perfumed - and they can be so lovely !!
But then we have all these natural essential oils which can be combined in so many lovely combinations! The citrus smell, the flowers, the rosemary, the lavender or even pine just to mention a few..
It’s very different what people want. The first thing you do when trying out a new soap, is probably to smell it! And some is going for that wonderful scent and has no problem with a natural soap that has fragrance/perfume in it. The fragranced soap last longer in scent too.
And others want it 100% natural, and goes for the essential oils. The essential oils tends to fade in time, especially citrus scents. But these oils also have tons of skin care benefits (which we will save for another time)..
So if you are looking into any soap, and has made a choice wether you want it fragranced/perfumed or natural with essential oils, be sure to read the label on the soap :)
I like to have the option of both :)
