*Why Are Clients Afraid Of Colours — Café Hummingbird*
Most cafe owners choose white, wood, and grey. Not because they love it, but because they fear it. _“What if the colour looks dated? What if customers don’t like it? What if it doesn’t photograph well?”_ A cafe has to please everyone, so owners pick neutrals that offend no one. The problem is, neutrals also make no one remember you.
For *Café Hummingbird*, we chose to be remembered. We used vibrant, sunny yellow on the counters and walls because yellow feels like energy, warmth, and conversation. We balanced it with a bold chalkboard black wall full of doodles, quotes, and lyrics — a space that begs to be photographed and gives the cafe soul. Warm wood and soft lights kept it cozy, so the colour felt inviting, not loud.
And it wasn’t just the walls that had a voice. We added *live singing every Saturday*, so the music matched the colour. Soul food, soul music, good vibes.
People don’t remember “the beige cafe.” They remember the place that felt alive.
