Ballantine's Glenburgie 15 years old Single Malt Whisky - Well, this is the very first time I saw a single malt being offered from the house of Ballantines and upon researching a bit, I am quite surprised to know that in their almost 200 years of history, they have released a series of single malts recently for the very first time and it gave me a good amount of curiosity to taste it as soon as possible and here I am. 😅

NOTES:
Nose: It's fruity. Pleasant notes of apples, grapes, pears complemented with vanilla and some hint of brown sugar.

Taste: Caramel and vanilla hits the first following some hints of spices. Got some hints of lychee as well which develops some lingering fruity taste.

Finish: Tropical fruits with relatively short finish.

Overall: Nothing much.. but good to impress the guest, that's all.

Our ratings: 7.5 out of 10.

The Royal Ranthambore Heritage Collection Whisky produced by Radico Khaitan, India’s largest distillery located in Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh derives its name from the Ranthambore National Park located near the city of Sawai in Rajasthan. Ranthambore is most famous for its Bengal Tiger Reserve and growing population of big cats.

The Whisky is a tribute to the majesty of this historical land and is crafted from different scotch malts and grains from various regions of Scotland and finest grain spirits from India to harmonize the Whisky.

NOTES:
Nose: Pleasant blend of stone fruits such as plums and raspberries complemented with some citrusy notes and a bit of subtle smokiness.

Taste: A mellow, charred smoke-forward sip complemented with some fruitiness and vanilla which hints something more, but never develope any further taste or complexity.

Finish: Tropical fruits with short finish.

Overall: Nothing much but good to impress the guest.

Our ratings: 7.5 out of 10.

Brilliance, a world class Indian Single Malt whisky from Goa with 46% ABV has been matured for 5* years in ex bourbon cask and made with Himalayan 6 row barley which gives a very well satisfactory feel and taste you expect from a fine spey side region whisky from Scotland.

*5 years of maturation in India is equivalent to 15-20 years of maturation in Scotland due to high humidity and hot climate of India.

NOTES:
Nose: Sweet fruity notes of green apple, oranges complemented with notes of toasted nuts, dried grass, honey and bit spiciness.

Taste: Sweet and tangy fruits, malts, some oaky raisins and spiciness complemented with creamy vanilla and buttery toasted nuts.

Finish: Fruity and spicy.

Overall: Lingering long finish.

Our ratings: 9.5 out of 10.

, yet another Indian Single Malt Whiskey introduced globally in 2021 and has been matured in 3 different casks, Bourbon, Wine and Sherry to give a distinctive fruity taste profile.

The multiple maturation showcases very well and gives balanced layers of taste. There’s a good fusion of light spices and fruity sweetness which will hit you instantly as soon as you taste it.

This is surely a go-to-go whisky for those who love scotch from the spey side region such as Glenfiddich, Glenlivet etc but in my opinion it could have transcended higher. Possibly a bit complexity around the edges, some extra added time with the maturation casks would have made it a clean winner!

NOTES:
Nose: Floral and Fruity with notes of green apple, pears, caramel and mild citrusy complemented with a hint of spicy cinnamon.

Taste: Caramel, Berries and Green Apples hits the most, complemented with raisins, vanilla and some bit of cloves.

Finish: Red wine smooth, touch of oak wood with medium finish.

Our ratings: 7.5 out of 10.
