Standing Counsel fpr UOI, ESIC, U.T.Chd), it seems to b just a few dayz bk on 25.08.2023 6.50 AM tht I lifted u in my arms and u were lifeless though the most lively n energetic member of our family. The plans u had stood executed though may b with sm shortcomings. We miss u each and every day and shall miss u alwayz....We know u r watching each step but ur physical presemce shall alwayz be missed .....u were unique and the one and only Sallus biggest fan ever...Remembering u 💖

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY-2023 CELEBRATIONS

Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Bar Association with CAT UNIT of Adhivakta Parishad Chandigarh (APC) celebrated “International Women Day-2023” with full enthusiasm and zeal.

The Guest of Honour was SMT. RASHMI SAXENA SAHNI (Administrative Member), CAT-Chandigarh Bench. The Chief Guest was SH. RAMESH SINGH THAKUR, Member Judicial cm HOD) and the program was Presided by SH. SURESH KUMAR BATRA. The President CAT Bar Association Sh. Rohit Seth along with Sh.K.K.Thakur Vice President and the Executive Committee Members and Members of Bar and Esteemed colleagues were also participants.

Hon’ble Guest of Honour, Women staff and women lawyers were felicitated for immensely contributing to judicial dispensation system while working for the Institution..

The theme of the program was “Women Court Lawyers and Staff – Participation in Justice Dispensation System” The program broadly centered on the vital role and contribution of the women advocates and staff while maintaining a positive atmosphere at the workplace.

The speakers spoke on the occasion and highlighted importance and role of women in nation-building.
Sh. Rohit Seth, President, CAT BAR Association spoke about the provisions of the Constitution of India focusing on women’s empowerment and preventing gender based discrimination and on special provisions made under Article 15 of the constitution of India.. He highlighted that the progress of humanity is incomplete without empowerment of women in Society.

Sh. Thakur said celebration of Women Day reflects gender parity, gender equality. It grew in year 1900 with labour movements, demand for equal wages, right to vote, was celebrated first time by UN in year 1975. Service laws are gender neutral and governed by Rules. Sarojini Naidu played key role in empowerment of Women through education and political participation. National Women’s Day is celebrated to commerce birth anniversary of Nightingale of India, Ms. Sarojini Naidu.

Madam Sahni emphasized that a woman is a first ‘Guru’ and ‘disciplinary authority’ who shapes the thinking of a child which further shapes the society. She quoted Gloria Steinem, world renowned feminist, journalist and activist who says, “the story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to collective efforts of all who care about human rights”. She further stressed that Women Empowerment is critical driver for equality, economic growth and social development. She said that Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna has increased access of women to banking and credit facilities. She emphasized on vital role played by judiciary in evolution of women centric laws n stressed the need for greater and effective presence of women at Bar and the Bench.
Sh Batra spoke on the occasion and highlighted importance and role of women in nation-building and that women needs to be honoured and respected every day.

Sh. Pankaj Mohan Kansal, Gen. Secretary, Adhivakta Parishad Chandigarh shared with the audience the Resolution passed during the 16th National Conference of Akhil Bhartiya Adhivakta Parishad held at Kurukshetra, Haryana on 26 to 28 December, 2022 demanding from authorities concerned for adequate representation for women in Bar Councils and Government panels. The function ended with vote of thanks.

It was yet another occasion of Unity and strength when Bar Members (21) donated generously, to furnish the glass Rooms provided by Admn of His Lordship Sh. S.K.Monga, especially Sh. R.K.Sharma and sponsoring of Podium was by Sh.P.M.Kansal advocate.
The preparation, organizing and the atmosphere was positive and full of zeal as this was yet another constructive work for benefit of Bar Members.

A Facilitation function was held on 05.04.2022 by CAT BAR ASSOCIATION under Sh. Rohit Seth President, Sh K.K.Thakur Vice President, Sh J.R. Syal Secretary to Honour Hon’ble Sh. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Member (Administrative), Bangalore Bench on official visit to CAT Chandigarh Bench for conducting Physical Hearing of DB as Chief Guest. The function was presided by Hon’ble Sh. S.K. Monga, Member(Judicial) cm HoD The Guest of Honour.
The CAT Bar President gave the Welcome address followed by address by Hon’ble Sh R.K.Gupta Member (A) appreciating the cooperation of Counsels in holding VC by being adequately equipped and in conducting physical hearings. Hon’ble Sh S.K. Monga Member (J) high lighted that it is with the cooperation of the Bar in giving full timely assistance that the maximum disposal can be aimed at and attained to deliver speedy Justice. He stressed that it has been possible with healthy Bar and Bench relation and meticulous preparation of Counsels assisting the Bench. Mr Seth apprised that the Hon’ble Member has worked restlessly for conducting hearing of CAT Chandigarh Bench since November 2020 till date apart from holding the Bangalore Bench at the same time. The Momento was presented to the Chief Guest to Honour him on his visit at Chandigarh.
The function saw participation of CAT Bar Members and advocates and ended with the vote of thanks.
