The beauty of Goa is also in its traditions and festivals. Every June 24, the state celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist, known as San Joao. Goans mimic the rite of baptism by jumping into the village wells, a tradition celebrated by families and people of all faiths. One of the best places to witness the beauty of San Joao is in our neighbouring village of Siolim. There you’ll also get to see the traditional boat parade that begins in the afternoon.
