It didn’t arrive by recipe.
It arrived by memory.

A journey back home brought us the Champaran Chicken Curry —smoky, peppery, cooked slow in clay pots sealed with dough.

Now, it sits on our table in Assagao
a little bit of Bihar,

Award-winning Indian food restaurant, Jamun, from New Delhi has launched its second outpost in Goa, Assagao.

Pass Code Hospitality’s multiple award-winning Indian food restaurant, Jamun, from New Delhi has launched its second outpost in Goa, Assagao, and it brings something very new to the table by dishing up local Goan plates alongside signature Jamun ‘feel-good’ recipes to offer diners a dining experience like no other. Executive Chef and partner Rahul Gomes Pereira (aka Chef Picu) who is from Panjim itself has curated a ‘local’ extension of the famous Jamun menu in Delhi featuring some regional Goan specialities. This menu displays a variety of new dishes which are conceptualised with a special ‘farm to table’ approach. Specialty dishes including Palamuru Village Kebab, Jamun Pork Toradinhos, Stuffed Squids and Crab Xec Xec are added to signature Jamun must-haves like Bharwan Gucchi, Patte ki Chaat, Mutton Ghee Roast, Ker Sangri Kofta and Raw Mango Prawn Curry served with Malabar Paratha to Appams or the local Poi Bread and Goan Pao. The cocktail list promises some of the tastiest cocktails on offer in Goa with a selection of homegrown and locally sourced ingredients with a classic Indian twist that are concocted perfectly.

The restaurant itself, located in a restored Portuguese Villa in Assagaon, is one of the most lovely venues for any occasion, be it a romantic dinner or a long leisurely afternoon with friends. The original authentic tiled flooring and solid wood roof have been preserved and highlighted, with contemporary and authentic elements adding layers of detailing, including a gorgeous port bottle chandelier and woven cane bar counter. Walls offer glimpses of Goan life, captured by artist & photographer Eeshaan Kashyap, who is incidentally a Partner at Pass Code Hospitality. The alfresco garden behind the restaurant overlooks the busy live kitchen, has a stage for live performances and offers a glimpse at the Jamun-hued forest beyond, making this section into a truly magical setting, The restaurant also features two retail spaces which will keep sustainable, ethically sourced and homegrown lifestyle brands. Bringing together the evolved and the traditional, the Jamun Goa experience is a true celebration of India.
