The Jewish and comedy world lost one of its greats this Saturday. We are saddened by the loss of Jackie Mason, who brought Jewish comedy and laughter to us all. He is a great inspiration to so many of us. He was a lover of Israel and was strong in his support. And he gave us the greatest gift of laughter. The favorite comedian of so many of us.

Here is the mural from Off The Wall on Ben Yehuda. We were Zoyche to have the Rebbe of Comedy watching over us for ten years. As hard as it is to think, we are now looking forward to having him watch over us from Shamayim, inspiring us with more of the soulful laughs he brought us over his lifetime.

We thank Aish.com for this beautiful article and tribute. Jackie Mason, ‎יעקב משה

Our Tefillahs are with our dear friend Avi Liberman for a Refuah Sheleymah...Avraham Shimon ben Sara Leah אברהם שמעון בן שרה לאה
We are looking forward to you bringing laughs to us all in Israel and around the Olam very soon, with full health.

Liberman hosted the "Comedy for Koby" tour, whose sold-out shows brought North American comedians to perform in Israel in order to raise money for the families of terror victims.

Lag BOmer Sameach
Off The Wall is supporting the Kibbitzer Magazine, as a way to share the weekly laughs we've not been able to do in person... Check out the most recent article and the sign up for the Newsletter...

Making the Lag BOmer Bonfire (new humor article on how the Israeli kids collect everything that burns, in the Kibbitzer Magazine)...

• Due to the light the Rashbi brought to the world by revealing the mystical layer of Torah, children go out and make huge fires without parental supervision. It's a tradition. A Yahrzeit candle isn't big enough to create a Kabbalistic safety hazard... Emunah.
• The kids of Israel collect anything that burns. This includes trees, branches, homes. There's a fine line between a child’s understanding of religious vigilante and paying respects to Rashbi.
Comments I overheard from my in my neighborhood last Lag B’Omer:
‘Why are we missing our cabinets?’ ‘Where is the bench? It was just here yesterday.’ ‘That door belongs on the hinges. Thank you. This is our home.’ ‘Please put her back. She was sleeping.’ ‘They burned my door last year. I boarded it up.’
• Some celebrate by playing guitar. That's like a bonfire experience. Nobody played guitar in my neighborhood last year. The kids threw that in the fire....

Today, we commemorate Airy אריאלה אהובה בת דוד חונא's Yahrzeit

She continues to bring so much joy to myself and all of those who had the pleasure of being around her, in this world. We pray for her Aliyas Nishama as she continues to affect us all with her continued smile and support that we merit constantly.
We know that Airy continues to have all of our backs, while she brings us all strength and goodness.
Women's karaoke will forever synonymous with Airy.

Shana Tova To All
As this year begins we should all merit a beautiful year in which we can share laughs, Simchas and whatever Gd throws at us, together with our communities, as one... A year in which Off The Wall Comedy Theater - תיאטרון הצחוק opens to laughs of redemption...

Things to Pray for This Rosh Hashana (my new humor article on prayers we need for this coming year, based on a year of quarantine)...

It’s kind of hard to feel close to somebody when you have to put on gloves to shake their hand. It’s kind of offensive to cover yourself in a space suit to show somebody you love them. God, this year, give us some hugs...
May we merit to being able to hear people with their mask on. I want to be able to interact with people I can't see...
Masks You Can Breathe in During Prayers- We should merit to not suffocate ourselves for the sake of our davening this Rosh Hashana. We should merit a year in which masks are not added to the Unetana Tokef prayer...
A Year with Less Disinfectant- We should all merit not to have to disinfect everything in shul before using it. I don’t want random shpritzes in my face, being told that it’s for my health. I don't believe that spraying down a siddur is healthy for it... My hands are chapped. May we merit a year of hand cream...
We should all merit other people not getting angry at us for grocery shopping this year. A year of not getting nasty looks for standing in line at the supermarket. A year of not getting yelled at because your feet are not perfectly placed on the sticker. Is that sticker really six feet away? We should merit the ability of decent depth perception, so we know six feet and people don't get mad at us...
A Year of No Disease- I don’t know who was praying for pandemics last year, but that must stop...
