Anyone who knows me or has been in my home would have seen my Barrys Tea Caddy 3 String Guitar or as I like to call it my "Barrys Banglaphone smile emoticon:-) . " This is in the 1st photo of Don playing my 3 string barrys guitar .
This is something that i made a few years back and anyone whos seen it loves it ,

Don dropped down a few guitar to me to be setup and others to be repaired " Don saw my Barrys Banglaphone and and played it and asked me could i make him one .

I said yes of course , Don wanted a 4 string rather than a 3 string ,

So as you can see from the photos " The start to finish build of the Barrys Banglaphone II " Or as i like to call it " The Manilow Collection " lets see who twigs that smile emoticon:-)

The Guitars is made from ,
Teak .
Beach,
Maple ,
BarrysTea Caddy ,
BC, Rich Pickup ,
1 Volume pot . ,
1 input Jack input
" Stopbar is a Table Spoon " String guides are curtin eyelets,
Bride & Top Nut " Rusty Treaded Bar " must be rusty as it makes it sound better smile emoticon:-).
4 old machine heads. and last but not least " The luxury twine strap .

Put in a preheated oven at gas mark 180 lol.
JOKING !!!! do not put anything in the oven !!

Don just picked up his Barrys Tea Caddy 4 String Guitar and is delighted with it .

This stunning instrument was dropped in to me by Mr Don Baker ,

The guitar needed a full setup , some fret work and a good clean.

It looks stunning " even if i do say so my self .

The is a working instrument " Meaning it earns its keep " The guitar came to me just looking tired and the odd fret buzz ,

Its amazing what a good setup and a fret polish can do to a guitar.

Unfortunately i didnt take any before photos .

Don has since collected the guitar and is extremely happy with the results and will be using the guitar on his " Baker Rose Album Tour "

Don and Clara Rose will be appering at Beggys in Navan , Co Meath on the 20/05/16 .

Don has since drop a few real beauty into me to be repair/ Setup . I will post photos as and when there done ,

Ths Jackson DK10D came into me in good condition ,

Just needed a good clean and a setup .

The customer asked me to block the tremolo as he did not use it ,

As you can see from the photos the transformation of the guitar after a good clean and setup .

Yet again the customer was very happy with the end result .

This Epiphone Les Paul Standard came in to me for a setup and as always ,its new just a setup ,Theres always something else that needs correction ,

As can be seen from the photos " the guitar needed some fret work ,Recròwning /Leveling and polishing .

The guitar was in bad need of a setup and a good clean

The guitar had not been used in a while " with the result the pots needed attention /cleaning . One of the pots was completely froozen solid !.

The input jack also needed some attention " Broken solder joint ,

After a good few hours on the above the owner ended up with a fully functional guitar .

When the customer came to collect the guitar he was extreamly happy with the end result and has since giving me 3 more guitars to setup .

i cannot emphasize enough the differance in a guitar when setup .

every guitar should be setup at least once a year . it make a huge differance

This is a really common problem with acoustic guitars and a simple fix .

Just remember to take markings of the bridge position " Using masking tape and a pencil " If the bridge isent fitted in the correct position you will NEVER get the guitar to tune right .

ALL of the old glue must be removed from the bridge and the top f the guitar " sound board "

a handy job that improves the sound and the looks of the guitar

I took this in as a trade in against another guitar i had for sale ,

Solid Alder Body .

Maple Neck .

Rosewood Fret Board .

Open back clover machine heads / Tuners .

One tone control .

Two Blend Controls .

This bass came to me badly needeing a setup and it has made a huge differance !

I replaced a Pot/ Control " as one was damaged when i got the bass ,

I also replaced the control K***s.

The Action on the guitar was silly " as can be seen from the photos "

The guitar just needed a good setup and a good clean .

Setup included .

Clean the guitar from top to toe ,

Degrease the finger board and reoil it using lenseed oil .

Polish Frets .ZERO FRET WEAR

Clean out pots/ controls .

Clean bridge, Saddles ,Machine Heads.

Grease Saddles. Intonation Screws , Top Nut , machine Heads .

Set Action

Set Intonation .

Plays really well now , Really low action with no fret buzz " How it should be :-) .

The above bass is for sale .

The over all condition of the bass is very very good , One ot two very very minor paint chips "

1982/5 Tokai Super Edition Flying V.

Hardwear , Kahler Tremolo System with fine tuning/Closed /Sealed Machine Heads. Headstock Nut locking System.

Controls ,
1 Volume , 1 Tone , 3 Way Toggle. Preamp “ Loud Switch :-)

Pickups .
Neck , Dimarzio Humbusker USA
Bridge, Dimarzio X2N Humbucker USA

Body Mahogany.

Neck , Mahogany .

Finger Board , Rose wood

I took the above in as a restoration “ as you can see from the photos it needed saving badly “

First job was to remove the bacteria and years of dirt “ Honestly it was filthy “ But I knew underneath it all was a really good guitar ,

As can be seen from the photos , The frets where showing signs of wear “ so a fret crowning and polish was needed ,

I could write a book regarding the work that went in to the above guitar “ Put it this way “ Far to many hours where put into the above “ But I knew I could turn the clock back on the beauty .

The white scratch plate where the input jack is “ Is not Standard “ I had some scratch plate here and made up this to support the jack input and hide the nasty hole “ I could have filled it with wood and routed it out from the rear cavity “ But the budget didn’t stretch that far .

The guitar had a ful set up and plays beautifully

The Kehler tremolo system is a fantastic piece of engineering BUT I think its slightly over engineered “

I think the owner of the above will be very happy with the end result “ I know I am J . I honestly believe I just got the Tokai in time , if it was left much longer I think it would have ended up as a parts guitar of just in a corner to decay .

This really is a fanstick guitar ,

This is a Epiphone SG " 2005" that i had knocking around my work shop for a while " It was one of them jobs i put on the long finger :-)

As you can see from the first couple of photos the guitar wasnt looking its best to start with " just a neck & body "
I cleaned the body and neck and saned the neck and body " Paint work " with 2500 grit - 6000 grit wet & dry sand paper and compounded and buffed the paint work , " It came up very nice even if i do say so my self :-) .

As the title says . I upgrade everything on this guitar .

Upgraded the Machine Heads with a set of Grover 18-1 ratio " give a smoother and more accurate tuning,

Upgraded the Pickups ,
Fitted a matching pair of Chrome humbuckers "Rated t 12K "Much better out put to the original pickups .These are triple wax dipped and vacuum sealed to eliminate any unwanted feedback and noise"Pickups Still have protective film on them"

Upgraded
3 way toggle switch and fitted a Switch Craft jack input.

Upgraded
Fitted two Full Sized pots volume and tone "500k .much better quality the originals. also fitted two knurled Chrome K***s.

Cant forget the GT Stripes , Makes the guitar sound faster :-o lol

Full set up today and new strings fitted " Fender Super Bullets " 9s" light Gauge .

Set up

Degreased finger board
Re oiled with Lemon Oil
Polished Frets
Swapped out all electrics
Cleaned and buffed
Lubricated . Stop Bar Posts.Bridge Posts.Intonation Screws.Saddles .Top Nut
Set Intonation
Set Action
Tuned to pitch and gave final Inspection from Top to toe .

This is what i call resurrection the dead":-)

This lovely Fender P bass was dropped in by a long standing customer , The guitar was not in use for a number of years and just needed full setup , fret polish and a truss rod adjustment .

The owner also supplied me with a new scratch plate to fit ,

The ownder was happy with the end result and as i say to all my customers " A good setup can make a HUGE differance to any guitar .

A good customer dropped the above guitar into me to have a Piezo style pickup fitted,

A nice tidy job that opened up the guitars capability,

The customer was very happy with the end result

Heres an Epiphone les Paul with Flip Tone paint .

The flip tone paint colour was impossible to match so my self and the owner of the guitar both agreed on a metallic gold/bronze i picked out was the best colour match ,

the guitar was fully setup before returning it to the customer

The customer is very pleased with the end results and is now a very good customer

Heres a Candy Floss Pink P Bass a customer bought 2nd hand for his son . " the son refused to pick up the bass as it was pink !

Resprayed it Red and his son wont put the bass down :-)
