Folks, this came up as a memory for me. It's great to see that the weekly Tuesday night music sessions àre still continuing successfully under the stweardship of Pat & Elaine at Powers of Timahoe 🪕⛽️🍺.

Sadly, there are some faces in these photos that have since passed onto their eternal reward and the Kelly's Bar in the sky. We think of them everyday and remember their songs, music and folklore.

Remembering Gerry today on what would have been his 60th birthday. We were never allowed forget the 12th of May and he reminded us this every week when the numbers were being allocated for the bonus ball.
Could you have imagined the celebration and whooley that would have been held last night on the weekly Tuesday night session for him. Again, thank god we have so many memories and stories of Ger to reminisce on.
Now, he would have said that he would not have wanted a fuss and could not have cared less, but he would have gone mad if we had all forgotten it.
Stay safe everyone and please god we will all be back together very soon.
Now, fingers crossed No 12 comes out for me as the bonus ball tonight in the lotto!

Two years ago today we all received the sad news that our beloved proprietor and best friend to all of us Gerry Kelly had passed away.
What would Ger have thought of all the Covid 19 going ons this year? Well, I can only just imagine. I can see and hear him now giving out about it lol!

We all gathered last Christmas for the Ger Kelly Memorial Tractor Run where lovely memories and stories were shared of Ger. It was fantastic and uplifting to see the pub enter its new chapter and story with Lar Power & family in March just gone. Ger would be delighted to see a light and a fire on in the bar and all of us back together again.

This year has been so strange and hard for everyone, but we will look forward to being all together again in the bar when all the Covid restrictions lift.

We miss you Ger and don’t worry you will never be forgotten. You have left such a positive and lasting legacy in our community. Until we all meet again in Kelly’s Bar in the sky.

Remembering Ger today on his 2nd birthday away from us all. He would have loved today as today his birthday falls on a Tuesday which is the weekly music night (his favourite night) and the group would have made it special for him.

We miss you Ger and we still talk,laugh, reminisce and give out about you every day!! We are all back together now in the pub and we cannot wait till the lock-down is lifted so we can continue to create more memories and stories in this heart of the community

Remembering our dear friend, publican, confidant and neighbour on his birthday today the 12th May. Number 12 was always his number and noone elses lol. It looked after him well as he won the bonus ball more times with it.

Happy Birthday Ger from all of us. We miss you fierce but thank god we have so many great memories, stories and songs to last us forever. May you rest in peace x ⛽

Ger Kelly Memorial Tractor Run

Special thanks to all who participated, helped and supported todays tractor run in memory of Ger. A great day was had by all. Ger certainty blessed us today with the great mild weather.

The Gerry Kelly Memorial Tractor Run

Timahoe Community Council are proud to host The Gerry Kelly Memorial Tractor Run on Sunday 29th December 2019, departing from Connollys of Ballagh with registration from 10am with the usual hot toddys in Wrights and stew for all participants on finishing.

The Timahoe tractor run is held religious on the first Sunday after Christmas. This event was one of the big events of Gers calender and he loved catching up with all the tractor run regulars.

Each year on that Sunday morning Ger would open up for us scratching his head and giving out f**k about how he couldnt get Jason Byrne and his crew out from the hob the night before after their annual music session and that he still had to clean the hob and light the fire.

Ger used to give the community council free reign of his kitchen for the food prep and we would be running in and out all morning. He was a great man for throwing in the few prizes for the raffle and the kids used to loved when he topped up all the baskets with the roses and quality street. The tractor run is always a great enjoyable community day in Timahoe 🚜
