**** RTE's Raised by the Village looking for Tulsk families to host a child/teenager in June & take part in filming ****
We are looking to cast a “rural idyllic village” to take part in the next series of Raised by the Village for RTE One. We want the type of village that represents rural Ireland at its best. We would like to showcase the village’s unique characteristics, unique personalities and of course the best host families. The idea is that we take two teens (with all the usual teenage issues) from their urban environment and place them in a rural village for a week. Within that village we require two host families. Ideally two families that have either teenagers or kids, and or have the parenting experience of raising a teenager. They would host the teenagers and we would come down and film for about 5 days in and around Thursday 11th June to Monday 15th June '20 The teenagers would engage in whatever chores, routine of family life, and become part of the family for that period, perhaps giving them a chance to see another aspect of parenting and family life. Within the village they would meet and spend time with other community members or mentors in the village depending on what the village had to offer. Both families would need to have strong ties with the village or live in and around the village, and one of them at least needs to be from a local farming background. Any other community projects going on in the village would be a bonus. For now, we would ask is that you spread the word with members of your community, family, friends, and locals. I would like to hear back from the Tulsk community by Friday 20th March 2020.
We've received great reviews from the media and general public on Raised by the Village and look forward to working with new villages to produce another great series. If any of the village wants to check out the programme I believe it is currently showing on the RTE player.
