We are an award winning bar and restaurant - Black and White Co. Galway Pub of the Year 2004 - Irish Pubs of Distinction 2005 and 2006 - Licensing World Bar Awards 2008 - Local Bar Award Finalist. The Malt House is a family run business located on the square in the busy town of Mountbellew boasting fabulous comfortable décor and a unique history. A famous stage coach stop and hostelry well over a

century ago, it was the first singing pub in Galway to be granted a dance licence back in 1969. With its natural stone finish at the front of the building and friendly staff, The Malt House is a welcoming place to enjoy superb food 7 days a week. Food is served till 8pm Sunday - Thursday and till 9pm Friday and Saturday. The Malt House looks to entertain its customers with live music in the bar every Saturday night. In addition we also cater for all types of functions, both small and large. With excellent, courteous and friendly customer orientated staff, this is the ideal family pub. The Malt House is a very known establishment with a very successful food trade and a good local bar trade. We are very family friendly and will try to meet the needs and expectations of everyone from a cup of coffee, a pint, a quick lunch, a healthy dinner, a business meeting or a romantic dinner with your loved one. We also have a function room which we use for confirmations, christenings, parties, funerals and live music throughout the year. We can seat up to 120 people at one sitting in our function room. We take bookings every day except on Sundays which is on a first come first served basis.
