🌧️🐟 We took this fish & chips photo in the rain… and then promptly brought it inside and absolutely devoured it in front of the open fire. 🔥😂

Our fish & chips is now coming with a crispy pea fritter 🫛✨Something a little different, but it’s already getting great reviews from staff and customers alike! 🙌

Crispy battered fish 🐟, proper chips 🍟, tartare sauce, lemon 🍋 and our new pea fritter.

Because if the Irish weather won’t give us summer, we’ll just light the fire and get the comfort food out. ☔🔥🍺

🌊🦪 A little taste of the Atlantic on the plate…

Pan-seared Cleggan scallops, served with a vibrant red pesto, crispy pancetta 🥓 and a fresh, zesty finish. 🍋🌿

Sweet scallops, salty crispy pancetta and that little hit of acidity from the escabeche (a seriously good combination). 🤤👌

And yes… the weather might be a little grey, but that view never gets old. 🌧️🌊💚

🌊 WE’RE IN IRELAND’S TOP 50 CHOWDERS! 🥣🏆

We’re absolutely delighted to share that McLoughlin’s of Mulranny has been voted among Ireland’s Top 50 Chowder Restaurants in the Cully & Sully Souperb Awards 2026!

We put a huge amount of work into our seafood chowder, so to be in contention for the top spot in Ireland means an awful lot to us.

But we’d love your vote for another reason too…

The higher we place in the competition, the better our chance of bringing the judging panel *which includes the lovely Cassie Stokes* here to Mulranny.

Of course we’d love to win, but we’d also love the opportunity to show the judges our beautiful village and everything Mulranny has to offer.

If our little bowl of chowder can help bring some extra attention to Mulranny, and hopefully encourage a few more people to come and visit our village after the competition finishes in September, that would mean just as much to us. 💙

From bouncing back when it mattered most, to outstanding Championship victories over Cork and Louth, you've shown courage, belief and a togetherness that has inspired an entire county.

Captain Jack Coyne has led with pride and determination, to the relentless energy and commitment of our own Jack Carney, while Ryan O'Donoghue has produced some of the finest football in the country this summer. Add in the fearless emergence of exciting young talents like Kobe McDonald and Darragh Beirne, and you've given Mayo supporters memories that will last a lifetime.
