Imbibe in our secret bar that takes inspiration from the atmosphere and cocktail menus of the clandestine 1920's prohibition era. At the DC Speakeasy we have a passion for making the highest quality drinks and cocktails; using the best ingredients, and the finest, often painstaking, methods. We use fresh juices in every drink (hence no cranberry juice), because the drinks taste superior this way.
We do not stock cheap flavored spirits or liqueurs. Our drinks are made using only the finest ingredients and painstaking methods. We chill our glassware in freezers set to -15C to keep your drink cold during the process of preparing it. We are methodological in the amount of times we shake or stir a drink to ensure that it is perfect when it reaches you. We serve stirred drinks in 5 oz glasses accompanied by a sidecar to keep them chilled without dilution. For stirred drinks on the rocks we use crystal clear hand carved, twice frozen ice made from mineral water. This results in a denser ice which chills without excessive dilution. It takes a few minutes to mix a great drink. Enjoy the ambiance, converse with friends and let us take care of you. We do not serve certain drinks you may get elsewhere. There's a time and a place for that sugary mix and cheap spirits. It is not here. Please do not be offended, we will do our best to guide you to a better drink.
