This weekend is The 228th Anniversary of The Battle of Ballinamuck.

To mark this occasion Fr Pat Lennon will hold A Prayer Service at The Croppies Grave on Shanmullagh Hill at 7pm on Saturday September 5th. Transport to and from The 98 Hall Carpark to The Croppies Grave will be provided on the evening.
After The Prayer Service Fr Pat Lennon’s book “Come Here A Second Till I Tell You” will be launched in The 98 Hall at 8pm where refreshments will be served.

As always everyone is welcome.

For the final session of the weekend 🎵🤟🏻 and certainly not least, we have Sean Sweeney, Michael Lennon and Luke Casey, all members of local band The Hybrid Roosters in the 98 bar at 4pm on Sunday the 27th 🐔 💛✨🎵

Many will know Sean and Michael from the Annaly Céilí Band. All three are well-known faces on the Longford music scene and can often be found playing sessions in the Tally-Ho, McPartlinds and venues around the county.

We have no doubt they’ll provide a fantastic session and what better way to round off what has been a brilliant Trad Fest! 🤩🎶🎻🪗🎸🪕

Like any good trad fest, the session trail is at the heart of it — and here at Féile Thomas Kiernan, we expect it to be no different! 🎻🍻

It’s a pleasure to announce some of the fantastic local musicians who will be kicking off Tradfest Night 1 — Friday, September 25th.

These three are no strangers to the Longford music scene and can often be found sharing collections of tunes at the monthly Tally Ho session. We’re delighted to welcome them to Ballinamuck this September and can’t wait to hear what they bring to the session trail!

Liam Doherty & Aisling Clarke

As resident musicians at the Thursday night session in the 98, Liam and Aisling know exactly how to get a session moving. We’re expecting them to pull it out of the bag (or cases!) and get the festival off to a lively start. 🎶

With great local musicians, great tunes and plenty of craic, Night 1 is shaping up to be some session!
