Faces of the North Star: Meet Noreen “Pudsy” Molloy
We’re back with the fourth installment of Faces of the North Star, and this week, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our most beloved regulars: Noreen “Pudsy” Molloy. Noreen has been with us from day one, 11 years strong! Here’s a bit about Pudsy and her journey with us:
1. What’s your name and how long have you been coming to the pub?
• Noreen “Pudsy” Molloy, 11 years since day one!
2. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
• Born in Kileely to the most honest, hard-working family. I would help anyone in need as I have a great heart. I worked for 20 years in St Camilla’s Hospital, where I loved my job looking after the old folks. I’m an avid supporter of Limerick, Liverpool, and Munster.
3. What’s your favorite memory at this pub?
• Danny and Christy dressed as Father Christmas and Mrs. Brown. Also, meeting people from all walks of rugby life.
4. What’s your favorite drink here and why?
• Cider, always nice and cold with plenty of ice in my own special glass!
5. Where’s your favorite spot in the pub and what do you like about it?
• At the bar, having the craic with all the lads!
6. What are some of your hobbies or interests outside the pub?
• Painting, decorating, gardening, puzzles, and I love watching soccer, especially Liverpool! UP THE POOL!
7. Do you have a unique or funny story you’d like to share?
• When I was first married, my husband said he was sick of chicken and asked if I knew how to make stew… So, I bought a big tin of dog food called Chappie, added all the veg, and since he loved pearl barley in his stew that went in too, I threw in two oxos. Handed him his dinner, and he said it was the best stew he ever ate…. I was waiting for him to start going “bow wow wow.”
8. What do you enjoy most about the community here?
• Friendliness, best friends for life, always helpful people. Always up for good craic and a sing-song!
9. For people who have not been to the pub, how would you describe it?
• You don’t know what you’re missing. Local people, down to earth, and you’ll never be short of a pint.
10. What are you looking forward to in the future?
• Living as long as I can. Seeing my grandchildren grow up. Loving life!
Noreen’s warmth, humor, and love for life make her a cherished member of the North Star family. We’re grateful to have her as part of our community, and we look forward to many more years of fun and laughter together.
Stay tuned for more Faces of the North Star!
