This picture is of our lovely Dad Francie pulling a pint in the lounge bar back in the 1960's. I love the big smile on his face. He loved having live music in the bar and the late great Sean O' Shea was the music act on Francie's opening night.

Darkness Into Light 2026 .house

Leaving the fair field carpark tomorrow Saturday May 9th at 4.15am .
ie will do a quick warm up followed by a beautiful 5.5km walk .

We hung our May Bough tonight to welcome the summer and the good fairies through our doors .

Tomorrow May 1st, the first day of Summer we welcome the singers, dancers, poets and performers to bring a little spring in your step this weekend. We have the music lined up so let's go.

When comes to .ie everybody loves to watch the final 8 laps of the town, incuding our resident bar dog Darcy. Post race we love chatting to the riders and help them rehydrate with some of the black stuff . This year we were delighted to welcome the winning team from and the 2026 overall race winner . Of course, in keeping with tradition when there is a winning cup we have to fill it, and that we did! The lads enjoyed every drop .
To top it all off the 1978 Ras Mumhan winner Mike Breen popped in to congratulate Dany and they had a chat about the course and their respective wins albeit 48 years apart. Mike was 22 years old when he won and Dany is 27.

Well done to all the organisers, riders and their many support teams for another successful

Can you believe we are into the Easter Bank Holiday weekend already !!!

Kicking off Friday night we have tunes from Finbarr in the front bar from 10pm.

Saturday night we are delighted to welcome back Finbarr & Darragh to the lounge. It promises to be a rocking night .

Our usual Sunday session in the front bar is at the earlier time of 7.30pm with Brendan & John Brown, followed by the beautiful and very talented Caroline Spillane in the lounge from 10pm .

The Irish Grand National will keep us entertained on BH Monday. Sing song optional that evening for those willing!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Growing up in the bar we were priviliged to be immersed in this ancient tradition. We have great memories of the Biddy Groups getting ready in the old lounge bar and the dance hall in the 1980's. The rivalry that existed between the groups fuelled the music and dancing long into the night. Preserving this tradition for future generations was why was set up. We are delighted that the kids want to be involved and they earn that right with performances like this.
Safe to say we are in good hands.
