Think, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Five Farms liqueur, Black Twist coffee liqueur, cold brew coffee, muscovado, and garnished with nutmeg...a whole lot of good stuff, and most importantly with a kick!

Did you know that O’Donoghue Public House dates back to the early 1800's, when the Slattery family first began welcoming guests through its doors?

Over the years, neighbouring buildings became part of the Imperial Hotel and the much-loved bar, affectionately known as “Mrs Slattery’s Tea Rooms.”

Today, the building and indeed all of College Street remains steeped in history, tradition, and memories of wonderful local characters.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, College Street was at the heart of Killarney’s bustling market culture.

On market days, farmers, traders, horse dealers, and families travelled in from across East Kerry and the Killarney Valley, filling the street with carts, conversation, and commerce as they sold butter, eggs, turf, livestock, clothing, and household goods.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that O’Donoghue Public House has won ‘Best Gastro Pub of the year’ in Munster, at this year’s 'YesChef Ireland' awards.

The awards brought together the very best of Ireland’s culinary talent, as chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals gathered at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk for an evening celebrating creativity, skill and dedication across the industry.

As one of Ireland’s leading culinary and hospitality programmes, the awards recognise excellence across restaurants, chefs, cafés, hotels and food-led venues nationwide. To be acknowledged among our peers in Irish hospitality is such an honour.

A very well done to all the winners on the night - Comhghairdeas libh!
