🍀 A NEW CHAPTER — WELCOME TO HOSPITALITY FURNITURE 🍀
Today marks an important milestone for us as Used Pub & Hotel Equipment becomes Hospitality Furniture — a new name that more accurately reflects who we are today and where our business is going.
It’s been quite a journey.
Nine years ago, after being forced to close a thriving hospitality venue at the behest of vulture funds, 45 loyal members of staff lost their jobs and we were left with the contents of our pub, The Copper Pot Still in Tullamore, to sell.
From that, Used Pub & Hotel Equipment was born.
We quickly realised there was a real need for what we were doing. On our very first day, we received around 100 phone calls. There was clearly a market for buying and selling quality hospitality furniture and equipment.
Then, less than three years later, Covid arrived and the hospitality industry was decimated.
Like many businesses in our sector, we had to adapt. We pivoted into the home bar market and later expanded into Spain, sourcing outdoor furniture at a time when the Irish hospitality industry was operating under "outdoor dining only" restrictions.
My business partner Mick took the reins of our Spanish operation, and we're extremely proud of the many projects we completed there.
Following Mick's recent retirement, our focus has returned entirely to serving the Irish hospitality sector — and we're entering the next phase of the business with ambitious plans for growth.
Today, our business is very different from the one we started nine years ago.
Furniture rental has become an important part of what we do. We currently have furniture on the set of KIN 3, which is in production, and last weekend we supplied furniture for the "Lovely Local" at Electric Picnic for Diageo.
We no longer sell used bar or catering equipment, although we continue to supply new equipment alongside a huge range of new and used hospitality furniture.
And we have plans to expand into several complementary areas…

So, after nine years, we feel the time is right for our name to reflect the business we've become.
