O’Brien’s SuperValu Lead Off Golf Classic for 2026

The Sun is out and we’re in for a brilliant days golf at Headfort Golf Club as Larry O’Brien of O'Brien's SuperValu Kells and his team of 4 is greeted by Gaeil Colmcille Chairperson Olivia Ferguson as the tee off first in today’s scramble.

We have loads of prizes up for grabs as well as four featured holes on the 8th, 10th, 14th and 18th.

Headfort Golf Club is pleased to announce the return of the annual Sheridan Insurance sponsored Golf Invitational. This year’s event will take place on Friday 19th June 2026 and will feature a significant change in format designed to enhance the experience for every player.

Since its inception, the invitational has been a cornerstone fundraiser for the club, and Sheridan Insurance have stood proudly alongside it as title sponsor from the very beginning. Their continued commitment has been instrumental in making the event a success year after year, and the club extends its gratitude to Sheridan Insurance for their unwavering support.

In previous years, the invitational was held across a morning and afternoon time sheet on the old course. This year, the organising committee has made the decision to move to a shotgun start on both courses at 2:00pm. The change in format is expected to bring all participants together at the clubho
