If you've ever wondered what rattles around my head sometimes 🤔, you'll have gained a fairly good insight by this time next Friday if you make it to The Set in Langtons Night Club & Bar Kilkenny!

Mind you, what you learn might be scary 😈.

I'm really looking forward to the panel discussion at the end. We're all athletes with the same trials and tribulations, and all still learning and growing as we go.

Never get L.O.S.T in the hills again!

For anyone out there interested in doing a nationally accredited Mountain Skills 2 course, I'm running one over the weekend of the 26/27 January in the Wicklow Mountains (*** 2 PLACES LEFT ***). The cost for the weekend is €125 including all in-course taxi fares and tea/coffee. The group size is 5 students to 1 instructor so that everyone gets the max from the day. We will cover Mountain Skills 1 navigation consolidation, compass work, route planning, navigation techniques, feature recognition, emergency procedures, night navigation, mountain rescue, mountain hypothermia and steep/broken ground movement skills.

Also Mountain Skills 1 course dates for 2019 (All based in the Wicklow Mountains. Cost €115 for the weekend, including tea/coffee and an official Mountain Skills logbook; Group size: 6 students to 1 instructor) are also up on the website: https://www.adrianhendroff.com/mountain-skills

The Blackstairs Farming Group is a community based partnership group working towards the sustainable management and development of The Blackstairs uplands and their hinterlands. They will be holding a Farming Showcase in Rathanna on Sunday 16th of September.
The Department of Agriculture has allocated grant aid to Land Owners in the Blackstairs Mountains in a “Pilot Scheme”. It will be a good opportunity to create new projects and gain exposure for the area.
