Halloween is over and in a few short weeks (sorry) Christmas fever will be coming to Glinsk for the Christmas Fair at the Community centre on the 7th of December.

Don't forget the 🎻🎼 Mid Summer Music Session 🎼🎻an evening of traditional & country music on tonight, Wednesday 13th August at 8:30 pm.

Admission is free and all musicians are welcome to join in.

There will be a raffle on the night with all proceeds going to our local Hospices and we ask you to support this vital local service.

Raffle tickets are €5 and will be available on the night and also in SNJ CAFFE , Williamstown, O'Roarke's Bar and shop, Creggs, Dowds Stores, Glinsk and also in Dowds Bar. Prizes inc hampers and €50 vouchers!!!

Dear Runners,

We’re thrilled to welcome you to the inaugural Great Glinsk Run! Your participation helps support a great cause, and we can’t wait to see you on race day. Please take a moment to read through the important information below to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

🕗 Arrival Time

Please arrive at least 50 minutes early to allow time for parking, registration check-in, warm-up, and a pre-race briefing. The race will start promptly at 11am, road diversions will be in place from 10:20am and you may not be able to park near the events hub.

🚧 Road Safety

While we’ve taken every precaution to ensure your safety, some sections of the course will be on live roads. Please:

Stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
Follow all signage and instructions from marshals.
Run on the designated side of the road where indicated.
💧 Hydration & Gear

We strongly recommend bringing a hydration vest or water bottle, especially if the weather is warm.
There will be limited water stations along the route, so come prepared.
Wear appropriate footwear and check the weather forecast to dress accordingly.
🤝 Look Out for Each Other

This is a community event, and we encourage a spirit of camaraderie:

If you see someone struggling, check in with them or alert a marshal.
Encourage fellow runners—you never know who might need a boost!
🦺 Respect the Marshals

Our marshals are volunteers who are here to keep you safe and on track. Please:

Follow their directions at all times.
Treat them with kindness and respect.
🏁 After the Race

Join us at the finish line for refreshments, music, and a celebration of your achievement! The All-Ireland Hurling final will be shown live in the Glencastle Lounge and your presence would be greatly appreciated, especially if wearing red & white. 😊

While every attempt has been made to accurately mark the course length, due to it being a fundraising event and our first year, please allow for discrepancies

Less than a week to go to the Great Glinsk Run 🏃 have you registered yet? If not why not? Great day out promised with all the vendors below providing all the services needed! 🙌
