Something good to come out of all this sadness we have being experiencing these last few weeks , it is a beautiful crib and too good to be left in a box for no one to see and enjoy 😊 πŸ™

A throw back video to when we started this page back in 2016, many many wonderful people passed through those doors 36 years ago and we still think about them. It’s lovely to look back on the great times we had in KNH , from Marty Whelan flirting with Goretti Glynn 3 TIMES on the stage , to various games between staff and residents,to the wonderful animals that joined the pet farm over the years bringing great joy to our residents , all the crazy fun activities we had over the years that brought great laughs to all , to all the wonderful staff , to our amazing 3 BOSSES who always put residents and staff first and finally to our dear friends who had to leave the home to new digs who we have visited them all to make sure they are settling in . It’s always hard to say goodbye but this isn’t goodbye great friends will always still in touch no matter where they are , young or old πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

It is with deep disappointment and regret Kiltormer Nursing Home announces it will cease operations. For over 35 years, we have been part of the Kiltormer and the extended Galway community and we have taken great pride in providing person-centred care to hundreds of people from Co Galway and beyond. We are currently providing care to 23 residents and the challenges presented in operating a small, family-run, nursing home such as ours are proving unsustainable and we have taken the very difficult decision to cease operations. It is a loss to local health and social care services that a small nursing home such as ours cannot continue to operate . We are liaising with the regulator HIQA and the HSE who is on-site to ensure an orderly closure is effected. We will provide support to staff during this very difficult time and the wellbeing and safe relocation of residents are a priority. The Glynn family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Kiltormer and extended East Galway community for their great support the past 35 years. Staff who have worked in our home have provided exceptional empathetic care and support to our residents. We express huge thanks and gratitude to present and past staff who have been remarkable in bringing great comfort, companionship, happiness and support to the people we were proud and privileged to provide care for.
thanking you
Goretti , Derek and Gordon

November 2nd. All souls night.
It's an old Irish tradition. πŸ™πŸ’”πŸ₯°

It is believed that as the veil between the two worlds is at it's thinnest at this time of year. Those who have left us can come back for a brief visit on this night. Your energy and love for them is the path they follow. The Candle is the light that guides them to your home, and two small vessels one of salt and one of water, represent the essence of life. the salt and water also represent the meal you would have prepared for them when they were on this side. As they pass through your home, they can leave their love and blessings, and take away your troubles.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“1st November holy souls Day.
Many people have passed away early. When we look at the sky, we LOVE the idea that they look back at us. We remember them often, at night, when we look at the stars,a date,a song,a place,a smell..A memory of those who left us ALWAYS LOVED, deeply missed ...
