A great way to mark the end of last seasons Gatehouse Walking & Fitness Group challenge.
Pictured is last yearβs overall winner Karl Brogan, presenting a cheque for an incredible β¬1,150 to David Keenan, Chairperson of Emo Athletics. π
Throughout last seasons challenge, the members of the group contributed β¬5 each week, with the money raised going to a local organisation chosen by the overall winner.
After a fantastic performance throughout the challenge, Karl came out on top π and chose Emo Athletics as the recipient of the funds raised.
The β¬1,150 donation will go towards the fantastic work currently being undertaken by Emo Athletics on the new running track at Emo Community Centre. πββοΈπββοΈ
What started as a bit of fun amongst a group of friends became a great way of encouraging fitness, healthier habits and a bit of friendly competition, while also raising money for something that will benefit the wider community.
A massive thank you to everyone in the Gatehouse Walking & Fitness Group who took part and contributed each week. π
And congratulations again to Karl on taking last seasons title and for choosing such a worthwhile local project.
π Best of luck to David and everyone involved with Emo Athletics as work continues on the new track.
