It’s a Friday afternoon in the upstairs snug of Dublin’s Palace Bar, and the words Guinness and Diageo do not cross Willie Aherne’s lips.

“We’ll call it Big Stout for now,” says the well-known publican.

Sitting in one of the country’s oldest and most venerated public houses, Aherne is musing about the modern Irish pub scene.

As we’ve recently said, Changing Times Brewery won’t be raising our prices this year. We don’t believe a price rise is justified.

We believe in taking a considered view on pricing. Not just implementing annual price increases for shareholders in London, Amsterdam or anywhere else.

So no need to just ‘dream’ of a fairer approach for customers and pubs… We’re making this one a reality in 2026.

Changing Times Brewery won’t be raising our prices this year. We don’t believe a price rise is justified.

Others may be happy to ‘fleece’ pubs and customers in aid of shareholders, but the price of our kegs will remain the same for all of 2026.

We hope taking a considered view on pricing represents the type of “change” that people will see as being as refreshing as our delicious beers.
