Remembering a kind soul who touched so many lives. Four weeks ago, Frid Cummins said goodbye to his beloved mother, Vera, and now we say goodbye to him. Co-owner of the Strawberry Hall pub, his warmth, laughter and spirit filled the hearts of all who walked through its doors. His legacy will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Frid. Today the Strawberry Hall will not open. We appreciate your understanding that this time.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Cummins. Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed peacefully away this afternoon at the age of 97 surrounded by family. Vera started the Strawberry Hall at the age of 23 and ran such a fantastic family business into her 80s. With this passing we will be closing The Strawberry Hall and Goats Gruff today. Rest in peace Vera, we love you so much. You’ll be greatly missed by everyone.

We are so excited to see the return of the wonderful Net Chords to the Strawberry Hall garden this Sunday at 4pm. They are amazingly talented and definitely an act not to miss, gorgeous festive sounds from this brilliant quintet.

The live music continues inside the beautifully decorated bar with from 6pm, making it the perfect Sunday afternoon.

Our Story

Dating back to the 1800's, the Strawberry Hall is one of Dublin’s oldest pubs! Often referred to as a hidden gem, this traditional Irish pub gives a remote feel despite being only 20 minutes out of Dublin City Centre. The Strawberry Hall is renowned for their perfect pint of Guinness, warm hospitality and general ‘craic’. It is one of the few pubs in Ireland where people will not be glued to their mobile phone because a. there’s no signal or wifi and b. people are actually engaged talking to each other.

If you’re looking for live music, do not miss the fantastic trad fusion band on Fridays from 9:30 and Sundays from 7:30! If you’re looking to kick back to a wonderful blues band, make sure to join us on Mondays from 9.
