A new second venue for The Dublin Jazz Co-op!
We are bringing jazz to Dun Laoghaire into the lovely !

A Tribute To Billie Holiday, Friday the 3rd of October, 19:00.
Info and tickets in our Bio Link!

Join vocalist Aleka, guitarist Chris Guilfoyle, bassist Derek Whyte, and drummer Conor Guilfoyle for an intimate celebration of the life and works of Billie Holiday — one of jazz’s most iconic and influential voices.

Billie Holiday’s singing, instantly recognisable for its smoky warmth and aching sincerity, reshaped how jazz could tell a story. With her ability to infuse every lyric with raw emotion and lived experience, she brought unvarnished truth to classics like Don’t Explain, Fine and Mellow, and God Bless the Child. Her repertoire overflows with songs of love, loss, resilience, and quiet defiance — music that still resonates deeply today.

This performance features fresh arrangements of her best-loved works alongside other gems from her storied career, capturing both the tenderness and fire that defined “Lady Day.”

Our friends at have launched an Ireland-wide survey for improvising musicians and artists and we would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete it. Data such as this is vital when it comes to changing policies that directly jazz and improvising artists. The link to complete is in our story and there is more information below.

Improvising Across Boundaries (a Research Ireland research project led by Dr Sarah Raine [UCD School of Music] and in partnership with IMC) has launched an anonymous Ireland-wide survey for improvising musicians/artists.

Improvising Across Boundaries aims to support the continued development and health of improvised music in Ireland and to provide the necessary tools for musicians, promoters, educators, and media professionals to ensure that improvised music is inclusive and sustainable. The findings from this survey will be made available through Open Access reports (to be published online in 2027), alongside recommendations for improvised music in Ireland. The Open Access reports will offer evidence of the current issues relating to improvised music and will be designed for musician/artist use in applying for funding, lobbying policymakers, or instigating conversations with key gatekeepers or organisations.

This survey represents an essential opportunity for us all to produce a significant body of evidence, available to all. Please do ensure that your voice is heard by filling in this survey by the 5th of October.
