Green Man Wines is a wine shop, wine bar and café, launched in February 2015, by husband and wife team, David Gallagher and Claire O'Boyle Gallagher. We want to share our passion for artisan wine and food and to provide a place where people can hang out and enjoy the good things in life.

“Eat Spain, Drink Spain 2026” is coming up this September, and what better way to kick things off than with a Spanish Wine Tasting here at Green Man Wines! We are delighted to welcome back our good friend to host this tasting of all things Spanish. Always a big hit with our customers - Rafa is super passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and delivers his tastings with a sense of fun too.

After a welcome drink, Rafa will guide us around Spain with a selection of whites and reds that show the remarkable diversity this country has to offer – there’ll be a mix of indomitable classic wines and some fun selections we love.

Our very own Chef Dan will prepare a selection of Spanish-style tapas style dishes to accompany the wines on the evening.

A wine tasting journey through Italy with Pip Moire aka from Grape Circus – Wednesday 30th September 2026, 7pm - 9.30pm

With an estimated 1000-plus indigenous grape varieties, the wines of Italy can be baffling - even to the seasoned wine-drinker. Though impossible to taste every single grape variety in a couple of hours, this relaxed yet educational evening is designed to demystify the country and introduce you to some exciting regions and the grape varieties they cultivate. There will also be some classics thrown in for good measure.

As ever, to keep you going through the evening we will provide a delicious selection of Italian olives, cheese and charcuterie.

Wine tasting & dinner - Wednesday 7th October 2026, 7pm – 9.30pm The Wines of Georgia with Mari Sanaia

Join us on a journey through this fascinating country and it’s wines. Hosted by Mari , a Georgian native, wine trade professional and all-round nice person. On the evening we’ll taste 6 different wines representing the vast array of grape varieties, styles (white, red & amber) and regions. Our Chef, Dan, will prepare a Georgian meal to accompany these food friendly wines.

Winemaker Seiichi Saito of is popping in tomorrow Thursday 16th April 5-7pm and he’ll be happy to pour you a taste of his wines. We will have 4 different wines open to taste and to enjoy by the glass also. Please note, restaurant service is as normal, but we will have Seiichi’s wines available by the glass all weekend.
