This day 12 months ago, we like so many other pubs, voluntarily closed for the greater good for the first time. I don’t think anyone back then would have thought 12 months later we would still be none the wiser when we will be reopening.

Like so many, the hospitality industry has suffered so much but one thing the pandemic has highlighted is the role of the pub in Irish society. It’s place in the community is so much more than simply a purveyor of alcohol.

This has been highlighted by the countless messages of support and encouragement from friends and family alike. We are fortunate that our industry is unique in that our dealings with ‘customers’ are so much more than simply a business transaction.

In our relatively short time open we have had so many great times with staff and customers and there will be many more great times ahead.

Looking forward to when we can reopen and offer an alternative to long pointless walks and endless cups of coffee.
