This weekly event is an open stage for music rooted in the Irish tradition and happens every Tuesday in the Tivoli Backstage, on Francis St in Dublin 8 from 8pm. Each week musicians and performers of Irish traditional music are sought for and invited to perform. Performances are 20 - 35 mins long for duet and group acts, while soloist performance slots are 10 - 15 mins. The performance is hosted by an MC each night and other guests and artists may make occasional contributions. Although the performance ethos of The Trad Stage is rooted in the musical tradition of Ireland, artists are encouraged and welcomed to push the boundaries of collaboration, instrumentation and musical arrangement, as well as the creation of original material based on the genre. The bar venue is a funky use of space with an intimate performance stage is fully equipped with full in-house sound and lighting production capabilities. The stage integrates with a atmospheric dance floor and cosy viewing areas.
