It’s June again, nearly Donegal International Rally time.
As you all probably know the iconic “High Glen” stage is not been run in this years event, we would like to address some misinformation that is circling widely recently. The Olde Glen Bar has not, would not, and will never object to the running of this stage.
We have always supported and enjoyed this event in the village since the early 70’s.
We wish all in the Donegal MotorClub, all the competitors and all the fans a safe and successful weekend and hopefully we’ll see you back in the wee village in ‘27

The Olde Glen Bar in conjunction with Connolly & Fee Ltd hosted a music event on Saturday 26th July at the Olde Glen Bar.
This event showcased local musical talent & raised essential funds for the Cancer Fund for Childrens new theruapetic centre in Mayo!
We had a raffle and a BBQ on the day with all proceeds going to the fund. There is subsequently going to be a charity cycle called:
“Two wheels to Mayo” 👇

Two Wheels to Mayo is a two-day charity cycling challenge taking place on the 23rd and 24th of August 2025.
Organised by Connolly & Fee, it aims to raise essential funds for Cancer Fund for Children’s second therapeutic respite centre on the shore of beautiful Lough Corrib, Co. Mayo.

The cyclists will undertake an ambitious challenge, starting in Newcastle Co Down and cycling some 300 kms over the two days to the finish in Cong, Co. Mayo. Connolly & Fee has set an equally ambitious fundraising target of £30,000. It is hoped with your generous donations they can reach this goal.

By donating you will be helping Cancer Fund for Children support children dealing with cancer as well as their families across Ireland. The new respite centre will enable those families to recuperate during short breaks and find relaxation in the beautiful landscape. The new facility will allow for more than double the number of children to receive vital emotional and practical support. Opening the new centre will increase the number of children and families supported from 1,800 to 4,000.
