John O'Shea Memorial Darts Tournament

Some of you may remember John from our bar as a customer, but before that he was an avid dart player, hailing from West Cork he also played in the city, as far as I know he played in the Ardmanning but if anyone has any more info it would be great to hear.

We have been in touch with John's sister Mary for many years and she approached me with his 10th anniversary this year to run a tournament in his name. We are only delighted to memorialise a lovely person with the most infectious laugh with their own tournament in our bar. He will join other legends Benny de Luca and Pat O'Mahony in having a perpetual tournament in The Gallows. Both of which will be coming up very soon.

If you are free on this weekend we would love to see you, there will be a beautiful cup and trophies to be won, plus all money paid in paid back out. With 8 dart boards at our disposal it promises to be a great event.

You can enter by messaging us directly or on the day up until 5pm.

Starting tonight folks we have a trad session starting up with 3 lovely young students, Molly, Evan and Gráinne. It's a pretty new thing for the bar so hopefully it goes down well and we can keep it going long term!

Hi folks, we'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year and to thank you for all the amazing support over the last year once again, we have live music tonight with Gavin Baxter from 10.30 to play you through midnight and into 2026.

I will hopefully be fast asleep by then and my resolution of posting more often (Halloween photos will be up after Xmas photos lads🤣🙈) will be in full effect tomorrow!

I would like to take a moment to spare a thought for the people we've lost in 2025 who we will miss going into the new year, and we think of the families of those who are looking forward to putting 2025 behind them, I wish you all good health and good luck for next year ❤

Hi all, just letting you know we have word from Santa that he will be stopping by The Gallows this Sunday the 14th December around 4pm, so make sure to get in early and get a seat, Mrs Claus has organised lots of sweets for all the kids and a few pints for the adults, she's also organising a cup final win for Celtic so all in all it should be a great day!
