DJ Darren starting at the earlier time of 7.30 tonight as we know many of you are back to work tomorrow, on school runs etc (me) so we can just have the craic a little bit earlier☘️☘️ for those going to the parade wrap up well and we'll see ye later! ☘️🇮🇪

A later start time tonight folks, session will be in the bar and Champions League matches will be in lounge and upstairs. More musicians and singers welcome to join in and hopefully we can start up a regular session🤞

Starting tonight folks we have a trad session starting up with 3 lovely young students, Molly, Evan and Gráinne. Doing a bit of a soft launch this evening so anyone who'd like to come in for a listen you're more than welcome. It's a pretty new thing for the bar so hopefully it goes down well and we can keep it going long term!

Hi folks, just a little note to say we are going to provide hot food and Prosecco tomorrow night to mark Women's Little Christmas instead of Tuesday night, Pat Mullane will be playing some tunes at 9 and we hope to see our usual gang out before we're all back to normal.

Hi folks, we'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year and to thank you for all the amazing support over the last year once again, we have live music tonight with Gavin Baxter from 10.30 to play you through midnight and into 2026.

I will hopefully be fast asleep by then and my resolution of posting more often (Halloween photos will be up after Xmas photos lads🤣🙈) will be in full effect tomorrow!

I would like to take a moment to spare a thought for the people we've lost in 2025 who we will miss going into the new year, and we think of the families of those who are looking forward to putting 2025 behind them, I wish you all good health and good luck for next year ❤

Hi all, just letting you know we have word from Santa that he will be stopping by The Gallows this Sunday the 14th December around 4pm, so make sure to get in early and get a seat, Mrs Claus has organised lots of sweets for all the kids and a few pints for the adults, she's also organising a cup final win for Celtic so all in all it should be a great day! The most awful news imaginable today, rest in peace to a dear friend and neighbour to all who knew him, many great memories with Gary and his family, who are all in our thoughts now as they try to process what's happened. Our community spirit is needed here to support them at this incredibly difficult time 💔

Hi all,

Apologies for any confusion relating to our annual Halloween fundraiser for CorkCity Hospitals Children's Club but this will take place on Halloween itself as it's a Friday night we thought it would be a good idea and let people go jazzing or away for the weekend if they like.
Just make sure to hang onto a few bob for a very worthy cause.

Our children are everything and when children are sick they need to be supported as much as possible. So let's all dig deep as this charity do wonderful work!

Hope to see a big turnout and DJ Darren O'Driscoll is playing so I expect it to be a very calm and timid night as usual with him on the decks😂😝

If anyone can't make it on the night and either want to make a donation or buy tickets please get in touch with either myself or Thomas Moloney Neil Tynan John Murphy and we will sort it.

What can I say about Tubber(I never called him Paul and not starting now)that hasn't already been said? To see the outpouring of love and grief for a man taken so young yet taking his diagnosis with incredible dignity. If you know him, I don't think you'd be surprised.

We all know Tubber was one of the biggest messer's going, with one of the most contagious laughs, and smiles I've ever encountered. He will be a forever character of our bar, despite only meeting him after lockdown he's had a lasting impact on the bar and myself personally. He's a big reason we got involved in Irish Sepsis Foundation and raised a lot of money, he had an absolute heart of gold and could take a slagging just as well as he could give it. I think I was one of his favourite targets 😂😂

Tubber didn't love the camera, but I still made sure I got some of him, unfortunately we don't know when our last day will be. I've shared a few of the snaps I took of him here, should sum him up nicely!

All of us at The Gallows, customers and staff alike would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Tubbers family and friends, his mother Helen, brothers Chucky and Dave, his daughter Aoife, niece Emma and predeceased by his niece Allie and his adoring partner Janice and her children Courtney, Paul and Jasmine❤️

Hi folks, would just like to share about our raffle for the Cork jersey awhile back. Chris was in touch a couple of weeks ago and asked us to instead donate the value of the jersey to Cork City Missing Persons Search and Recovery so that's what we've done on his behalf.

Thanks so much Chris for your selflessness and decency I'm sure the charity will be thrilled with your donation of €75🫡🙌

On the 17th August we had the privilege to host The Frank Smith Memorial Fishing Competition with Gillabbey Anglers and the Smith family.

It was both a lovely day and a very emotional day as it is the first competition for Frank who we only lost almost 1 year ago, he would be so proud of how his family and fellow anglers honoured him with a great turnout which is great support for his family.

We'd like to congratulate Jason McCarthy for being the first winner of what will be a very prestigious competition and to Alex Lawton for winning the juveniles.

A very special thanks to the Gillabbey Anglers but especially to Willie O'Hare for his moving speech and great organisation for the competition, a great representative of a great club.

Finally let's raise a glass to Frank, he is still remembered by all of us in the bar, especially on Monday nights with the Monday club, his photo on display with Greg, Eddie, Mousey and more, some of his closest friends.

I promise ye won't have to look at my mug again folks but I said I'd do it live. The winner who I thought I didn't know I actually do know, Cristóir Ó Cadhla is a regular in the bar and I'm glad a regular won. He was giving out to me recently for not sending on a photo I took about 4 years ago, I think we've established I've a bit of a reputation for that at this stage.

Anyway congrats to Chris, if you can contact me with what size you want I'll have it in the bar by the weekend.

Also if you'd prefer a different colour etc that can be arranged, held off buying it so the winner got to choose colour and size.
